This winter, Orlando Museum
of Art is offering Art Academy, which provides kids with the opportunity to
explore their artistic abilities.
The Art for Everyone course
is designed for elementary level students and is meant to be approachable by
all levels of artistic interest.
In representative works
of Monet, Picasso and Dali, students will do projects that explore elements
and principles of design as these artists used them. Specifically, they will
explore the use of color and light in Monets gardens, Picassos use
of line and shape to convey states of motion, and Dalis unique vision
of the world as a form of individualistic expression.
The goal of this course
is to give students a chance to explore a variety of media, to build awareness
about the foundational elements of art (such as line, shape and color), and
to make them aware of three major artistic movements, Impressionism, Cubism
and Surrealism.
The Art Specifics course
is designed to give students a foundation in the principles of drawing and the
use of color. Dale Chihulys masterworks of glass and drawings will serve
as examples and inspiration as students understand the steps used towards the
creation of art. The goal of this course is the realization of the practicality
of drawing and coloring in approaching art and art production.
