As the new strategy for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce is evolving, and planning and implementation of this strategy begins, I want to keep you informed so that your membership in this organization has significance and meaning to your business and your life.

During my first few months on the job, I have been meeting with many Chamber Members and individuals throughout the community as well as regional leaders. I have been listening closely to you, and will use these conversations to help define relevant and innovative opportunities to connect you to the resources that you need. I am also working in partnership with other organizations to determine how we can best move forward with the agenda of becoming the “Best Regional Entrepreneurship System.”

Last week, I was thrilled to share coffee and conversation with Chamber members at our first “Innovator’s Café.” The purpose of this event is to introduce new members to the Orlando Regional Chamber and connect existing members. It is an opportunity to share your ideas with me and to share survival and success strategies with each other. Click here to access “Survival Strategies” that were shared at the Innovators Café now posted on the Orlando Regional Chamber website at www.orlando.org.

Participants interact at the Innovators Café
on Thursday, February 12, 2009.

More “connecting” events like this along with other learning opportunities are in the works and will be announced to you in the coming months. We will also feature survival and success stories in our electronic newsletter, Every Monday, in a monthly column entitled “Entrepreneurial Innovators.” Dan Rini, President, RINI Technologies, Inc. was featured in February. In case you missed it, click here. Watch for this regular column and consider submitting your own innovation story for consideration.

Working together, I hope that you will share your successes, challenges, and solutions and I will strive to provide you with creative tools, resources and opportunities to survive and thrive. I will communicate with you frequently and look forward to hearing from you.
